Great site. I'm going to send this to a Yahoo group I belong to that is for grandparents (like me) of a child with DS. My grandgirl is 15 and the little one in this video has a world of ups and downs to face, but the ups are incredible and the accomplishments are amazing. Thanks be, for this little girl and her super parents. Thanks to God for my grandchildren with and without DS.
Fantastic site...Hannah is so blessed to have you as her mom!
My son is 3 months old and may have DS...I don't know yet but he is an angel and a pure joy to have. I'll read more on here when I have more time. Thanks for adding some sunshine to my day.

Thank you, for sharing this wonderful video with us. I have to tell you im a military man, and have been for 18 years, and it made me cry. I have a son that has downs syndrome, and he is also so amazing, and i would never ask for anything else, he's my world. Just as Hannah is you too. May God bless you. They say anyone can be a parent, but it takes EXTRA ORDINARY PARENTS, to be a parent of a child with downs sydrome.

A beautiful video of a beautiful little girl. it was a pleasure to look at. such a loving family reflects on your lovely daughter.love Lorraine Axxxxxx
just watched hannah's video with my daughter isabelle who is 2 and a half, we thoroughly enjoyed it. isabelle started nursey last week, she is the first child with downs to attend the private school and although she cried leaving me she is settling in well.
After reading your article in Take A Break I had to view the website. Hannah is an inspiration to other familys who have had or are expecting a child with Down Syndrome. My sister, Rebecca has Down Syndrome and she is one of the best things that has happened in our family. She is 11 now and fantastic! We wouldn't change her for the world! A lot of happy years ahead of you!! xxx
I just looked at your fab video having been pointed there by a feature in the downsyndrome OK (South East England) newsletter. We've got a 3 year old with DS too, so your messages were highly pertinent. We're going to be giving a talk at our son's new nursery later this month, and I was just wondering if there was any way that you could get us a copy of your video on CD so that we can show his new teachers just how blooming great and admirable he is in a non-parental-bragging format?
i read your take a break article lead me to tears. hannah is so beautiful and she certainly made me smile :-). im only 13 and your story has showen me alot i didnt no about life.
what a beautiful little girl brings back so many memories of when our daughter was born with downs syndrome 14 years ago i would just like to say that all the pleasure little hannah brings now will grow day by day
I read about Hannah in Take A Break and just had to post a comment on here after being reduced to tears nearly!
I guess Hannah's story has hit home with me after my sister gave birth to a little girl in December last year with Downs. Her name is Gemma.
None of us in our family knew antyhing about Downs and little Gemma being the 4th child of her's, it all came as a bit of a shock to us all.
At just 9 months old, she is one of the bravest and most amazing little girls that I have ever had the honour to meet after being born with a hole in the heart also and spending weeks in Southampton Hospital and ending up having to be opened up twice in one week. What she went through in just one week would knock most adults sideways but she still came through it all with the biggest smile on her face.
Gemma, Hannah and the thousands of other children like them are an inspiration to us all and Im sure their lifes journey will be as amazing as they are.
baby and it was what the doctors called perfect she kept him i wanted to turn her downsindrome and let her see for herself she was just as normal in the inside as any1 else except people that dont give you a chance look at you different eventhough your not you might struggle a bit more to do thiings but you enjoy your life and are happy and have fun thats the main thing just enjoy life as much as you can and best of the look in the future with hannahs life with love jade xxx
its me jade again i didn't get to write enough i'd do anything for my brother i always stick up for him and when people stare i stare at them and see how they like it it stops them i got toi high school n wen people try and act immature by doind impressions of people they call spackers or mongs i stop them n tell them its not funni its not their fault and anything could happen like they could be put in a situation where a special person comes in to their life and it wouldn't be funni then so its not funny now hannah is a very special girl and id love to have a beautiful girl like her in the future a phew years ago my mum fostered a two week old boy till he was two he had downsindrome his smile was to die for like hannahs i couldn't look his biological parents in the eye they were being selfish not keeping him i just couldn't understand why they didn't want that beautiful boy just because he wouldnt be as normal as other kids the most hertful thing was a year later his mum had another
hi my name is jade im 12 i have a brother who is 18 he has downsindrome when he was born he had a heart problem so the hop got all the family round and said he was going to die but he wasnt they just didnt know what was up with him im the luckiest girl in the world to have him hes so special he can get on my nerves by the little habbits he has i wouldn't change him for the world im crying now wacthing and reading about hannah she is so beautiful my brother is so special to me he keeps me up at night he loves to sing and dance and he understands everything you say to him last year we went to disney land florida he loves disney the ques where massive but my special brother got us to the front also we can park near to the shops all the time with his disabled badge and we get to have a lovely car of motability for penny's we treat him the same we could never single him out he loves dolphins hes swam with them and it was his and our dream dht were great it wouldnt be the same without him

Hi, I read your story in Take A Break and was truly touched, which made me look on your website you have produced for your gift of a daughter. Hannah's story will touch many people, a great inspiration to live life to the full, taking things in your stride. It will teach many people that you should be grateful for what life brings to you, and to remain happy always.
My love is with you all, and I will keep looking regulary on Hannah's webiste to see how she achieves other major milestones in life!
Keep Smiling Hannah and the rest of your family xx
Hi I have just read your story in Take a Break and I just had to look at your website. What an inspiration. I myself have a learning difficulty I don't have Down's Syndrome but I have friends that do. When I was younger my mum was always told that I would not be capable of having a job or living independently like my brother and sister. Through my determination I got through Mainstream school and came out with some GCSEs it has taken me another 11 years of going to College and doing some voluntary work for an organisation called People First which is an organisation run by and for people with learning difficulties to support them to speak for themselves and to be included the same as everyone else. I now have a full time job as Involvement Officer for the Norfolk Learning Difficulties Service. I have also recently moved into my own flat with my boyfriend. Don't ever let `professionals` tell you that Hannah can't do something with your support she will go a long way.
I've jus read Hannahs Story in Take a Break its truely touched my heart. And reading some of the comments below its touched alot of the younger generation. Im only 18 myself and as a nursery nurse i love all children. Hannah is gorgeous and independent and with two younger sisters too look after shes got a lot of love to share! chat2claire@hotmail.com
I have just watched your montage 5 times, my sister is 16 and has downs syndrome. My mum was told the best thing to do was to have her adopted this was by a professional doctor!! The family thought about it but it wasn't the right thing to do. We now have a very independent, stubborn and amazing teenager who is the best gift we could have ever have had. I admit it has been a hard journey. Your daughter looks so happy and fulfilled, you have done a wonderfull job. This is a wonderful gift for her to look at when she is older. Thank you for sharing Hannah's achievements with us, i know that each one is amazing. Natalie from Leeds (20 years old)
The montage is so beautiful and inspiring- a reflection of your daughter i think. Thank you for sharing such lovely photos and captions, they really are fantastic and moving. Take care and thank you again, Maddy x
i read your story in Take a Break and just had to watch the montage you have created on the celebration of Hannah's life so far. Im only 18 and this has changed my perspective on disability so much. Hannah seems such a caring and fun loving child. The memories posted are priceless and i hope you share many more. The support you have given to others through your story is such an inspiration. Good luck to you, Hannah and the rest of your family. Take care, Mary. Ireland xox
I just watched the montage, thankyou for giving me a new perspective, Your daughter is awesome, your family and friends so loving and your daughter,Hannah is a joy, beautiful and a total delight to see, love to you all
Having just read Hannah's wonderful story in Take a Break it reminded me of a conversation my uncle had when shopping with my cousin who also has Downs, the lady involved took my uncles arm and expressed her sadness over Michaels Downs, to which my uncle replied that he would never be sorry.. his son would never rape, murder or mug anyone, he lived a happy and fulfilling life and was surrounded by friends and family who love him dearly, the lady promptly shut up and walked away!
Having read your article in Take A Break, it lead me to this site. I think you have an incredible and beautiful daughter who looks like she enjoys life to the full. You must be very proud. Sarah
Dear Jo,You Have An Amazing Strong Young Daughter And She Is An Inspuration To Others. I Am Only 16 And Have Not Had The Experience Of Taking Care Of My Own Child. I Used To Take Care Of A Women Who Had Downs' And She Was Just Living Her Life As Much As She Could. She Knew She Had An Illness But She Didnt Let That Get In Her Way And Just By Reading The Story In The Take A Break Magazine I Have Got An Instinct That Your Daughter Is Going To Be Just Like That. You And Your Family Have Taken Great Care Of Hannah And She Is Going To Look Up To You For Doing This Website For Her Because At Least When She Is Older She Could Look At This And Say " Yeah I Have Got Extra People Who I Dont Know Who Think I Am A Wonderful Girl " Because That Is What Hannah Is. One Day I Am Hopefully Going To Have Kids And If I Do Have Downs' Then I Am Going To Follow Your Foot Steps Because You Have Done A Fantastic Job Raising Hannah Because I Know That It Couldnt Have Been Easy, So Well Done.. take care bobbi x
i read the story in the take a break magazine in i sat there crying with joy because of the wonderful life you have with hannah and the family when i come a cross the web site i had a look and hannah just a perfect little girl and the video is just perfect too take care kirstyxxx
Dear Jo, I read your amazing story today in the magazine and I just want to say you have a very beautiful amazing daughter there. Hannah will be an inspiration to yourself, her dad and also her 2 little sister's. I work within the health care sector and I see a woman who is over 50 years old with downs', she's very clever and affectionate and is a huge credit to me and others around her, she married a down syndrome and they are devoted to each other. They are normal people and live normal happy loving lives. I wish you all the best of love and luck for the future. What a huge credit Hannah will be to you all. She looks such a stunner! Take Care. Susan xxx
dear Jo, your daughter is so beautiful I've just read the story and looked at all the pictures she is the most beautiful little girl I've ever seen shes a real inspiration i will continue to come on this site to see what Hannah has been up to im only 14 but this story really touched me! i would really like it if you could email me sometime about Hannah. You've got 1 in a million there i hope when i have kids when im older that their as beautiful as Hannah! please email me at bernie_kelly92@hotmail.co.uk lots of love bernie xxxxxx
I read your story in a magazine and had to watch this video you spoke about for myself and it touched me deeply and reading some of the other comments below it does help when life is hard and now I have a different perspective of not just children with Down's but with various disabilities. I'm currently in 6th form at school and I have a new role as a Peer Mentor working with children with disabilities, all different, working with them and seeing them happy, makes me happy - I'm just a student at the school and being a Peer Mentor to these children makes school worth attending! God bless all of your children! xXx
you have a real child here. im only 12 years old and feel so touched by what Hannah has been through she is amazing. i got this website out of a magazine.i was in tears by the time i watched all the videos. her sisters will be proud of her. i dont know her but im proud ive never known someone so truely amazing.she's growing up into a wonderful girl. i wrote a poem for Hannah:
Hannah has downs syndrome
but she's not any different from other people
people will be proud of her at home
if shes any different she better
shes touched my heart
been through so much
an amazing little girl
thats learnt so much
shes come this far
and will carry on
an amazing little girl
is Hannah. she's the one! x x x
I was almost in tears watching that. Hannah is gorgeous. You should be very proud of her!! My 2 year old son has a friend with Downs and, although at the age he is means he is shy, they get on really well and, like me, can only see the person. She will grow up to be a beautiful woman with many friends. May God bless your family - from one mother to another.
I'm truley touched by the story of Hannah, I am an18 yr old girl, and I did not understand people with Downs. To be honest I was afraid of them becuase of not understanding what they are about, and I never knew what they could ahcieve. I think Hannah's parents should be very proud as I'm sure they are, they have three beautiful and individual children, and I wish Hannah all the best of luck in the future and with more achievements that she will acomplish on her journey in life. take care Hannah love Hannah xx
A wonderful montage and a precious daughter. I am an extremely proud grandma of Ellie (now aged 18 months) who has D.S. and she has truly blessed all who have met her just as your Hannah has done. God Bless x
What a wonderful video. Every picture and comment was so true. I am the parent of andrew (8) who has Down's Syndrome. I wish you all the best for you and your family.
You know how it is when you can't help but smile until your jaws ache? Like there are invisible strings pullling the corners of your mouth up? Well that's what Hannahs story does for me!!! Please, please give her a hug from me! and one for her sister too!!!
can I just say a big thank you for sharing your story it really pulled at my heart strings. Your daughter is so amazing and has really made me smile. Your montage is great I will be gettin other people to have a look at your amazing daughter

What a precious little girl you have, and two lovely sisters! I am hoping to shortly foster children with disabilities and your montage will be great to look at during stressful moments, to remind me of their ABILITIES not their disABILITIES. Cherish your girls they are adorable. Thanks 'Take a Break' for this story x

There's no impossible from god and also as what you say if there's no rain, there's no rainbow. and my own is in every failure there's a success.

Thanks, Sam

Jane - Sep 5, 2006 2:01 AM
Gemma, Hannah and the thousands of other children like them are an inspiration to us all and Im sure their lifes journey will be as amazing as they are.

its me jade again i didn't get to write enough i'd do anything for my brother i always stick up for him and when people stare i stare at them and see how they like it it stops them i got toi high school n wen people try and act immature by doind impressions of people they call spackers or mongs i stop them n tell them its not funni its not their fault and anything could happen like they could be put in a situation where a special person comes in to their life and it wouldn't be funni then so its not funny now hannah is a very special girl and id love to have a beautiful girl like her in the future a phew years ago my mum fostered a two week old boy till he was two he had downsindrome his smile was to die for like hannahs i couldn't look his biological parents in the eye they were being selfish not keeping him i just couldn't understand why they didn't want that beautiful boy just because he wouldnt be as normal as other kids the most hertful thing was a year later his mum had another

I Used To Take Care Of A Women Who Had Downs' And She Was Just Living Her Life As Much As She Could.

Take Care. God bless all of your children! xXx
