Pres. Obama's first term is coming to an end...I can look back and see a man who has a heart for people..lets keep pushing him forward for a second term. The Bible says "..when the wicked rule the people mourn..." the nation has good years of hope and assurances...lets continue on this journey with Pres. Barack Obama by lifting him and the nation up in prayer daily!
We should all watch this every once in a while to remind ourselves to be grateful that we have this kind, thoughtful, caring man as our president. We must not let the negativity and sheer hatefulness that seems to absorb so many distract us from our gratitude and support.
Angelica -In the early morning hours of April 14, 2010, my heart and mind are comforted by the words of this song..."there's a road we must travel..." Considering all that is going on in the USA after the passing of the Health Reform Bill, how could the hearts and mind of a few be filled with hatred... the price of freedom and is benefits are so high. If this song could touch the hearts of those who are so angry about life in the USA, the road could be easy as this country continues to grow. Regardless, I am thankful for a President-- Pres. Barack Obama-- who has a heart FOR THE PEOPLE.
Today,February 23,2010 .We need to remember that the future is still ours to fight for. Change of any kind is not just hard but memory and fear makes it impossible for advancement to come without crisis. Even learning to walk and think takes practice and getting up after a fall. My dad said (get up and try again.) Let's keep up the fight.for our future.Only Learn from the pastand see what did not work.

Awesome!
I loved the song before the video was attached. Now, it is more touching than it was before. You must see the Queen perform this song in the musical
Hairspray!
Viewing and Listening to this beautiful narration simply bring home so many feelings, If we'd truly view the world as God created it, we'd know that we are all one and that our differences are so few, and our needs and similarities far out weigh the race war that we have been involved in for so long. I truly thank God for what he's done for this nation, and hope that the great people (Black/White) will realize the challenge that is ahead and step up and look up to God for the directions he leading us to. This is really AWESOME! IT IS JUST SUREAL TO ME - EVEN NOW.
This is the first time in a long time I've felt this hopeful for our countries future! I am so excited to see all the wonderful things that Obama has in store for our America!
God Bless us all~I support our Troops!
This is phenomenal. I never thought this day would come in my lifetime, but GOD!! President Obama you heard the call from the LORD and you answered it. Thank you for being so wise. Now I pray that you listen to what the LORD will be telling you in the coming years. Lean on HIM and not on your own understanding. You showed your love and I pray that all of us are on one accord in showing ours. May all your years be successful. Remember you said it first-------CHANGE, YES WE CAN. GOD bless you, your family, the vice president and all of your cabinet personels.
Viewing and listening to this presentation, I was profoundly struck by the general, and I think, universal sense and feelings of joy and expectant hope by some magnitude of millions of my fellow Americans at this time and hour in our country and history! And, even if many of the campaign aspirations, promises, dreams and proferred solutions should prove to be too difficult and are not fulfilled or stillborn because the time was just not right, I will still take solace in the euphoric balm that has lifted our American spirit at this time, and the opportunity that it has afforded us to dare dream of better ways! Oh, that my father and forefathers had lived to see the dawning of this coming day!
I am 58 years old, watched my father cry in my mother's arms when I was 11 because his boss called him a nigger and spat in his face. My father had 10 kids home to feed, so he had to take it. This election and video says to my now deceased dad, that it was not in vain. To our new first family, the Obamas, you represent the struggles, the pride and the future for all of us. Our hands are upon you to brace you when needed and our hearts are yours to continue the passion for all people. Continue to show your love, compassion and belief in all of us. It shows in your smiles and your eyes. You were there for us and we are here for you.
As a Christian one of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 3:15--where God promises to give His people "...pastors according to His heart." Look what wonderful think God has done for America-He has given us a president according to His heart. THANK YOU LORD GOD FOR THE WONDERFUL BLESSING!!!
This is a wonderful historical moment that I think that everyone should charish. The song that is song by the Queen is a representation of all people. What a road we have to travel and it began on November 4th when we as the people united to progress toward a more perfect union.
I don't think I've been this excited in my entire life! My husband and I are taking our two oldest grands (ages 8 and 10). It would surely be a wonderful thing if it were possible for us to get tickets for your 'Swearing In Ceremony'. IS IT POSSIBLE?
I am 48 years old married and the parent of 4 children. They would often ask if we would ever have a black president and I never thought that I would see an African American president in my life time. I would say perhaps when you are in your forties it will happen. But, God has done it in his time....I'm so happy about Barak Obama being our president. I know that he will do great things in the name of Jesus. This is the will of God.....
I am 46 and grew up in Charleston S.C.. I remember the riots in the streets as hospital workers fought for their rights to equal treatment and pay. Armed National Gaurdsmen being deployed to enforce a nightly curfew. Seeing an African American holding the highest office in the most powerful country on the planet makes my heart soar. I never thought I would see the day. Let's all pray and stand with him to show the world how democracy is supposed to work.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!.
I am a 46 yr old black female who has raised 2 sons basically on my own through many trials and tribulations because of the destruction of an intelligent black man through drugs. My goal was to do what ever it took to not let that happen to my boys. The struggle was hard to say the least but well worth it. Eldest son is in Japan teaching English and youngest fighting for our country. I never thought in my life time I would see such coming together as one people for the healing of a nation. I must say, I am once again inspired and LIFTED UP about what the human race can do. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
Hi, my name is Neilden and Iam a 45 yr. old African American man who has lived through so much this country and now to see this country Our country make an honest attempt to end their hatred and unproved violent attacks on Black men, women and our childen is a time worthy of fervent prayer and thanks to God for allowing us this oppertunity to prove the truth of "LOve thy enemy" for it was our Love that brought us to this place in history not our anger or violence.. may this LOve grow even stronger... Peace
You have to know where you've been to even think about where you're going. I was moved to tears, a 58 year-old black college professor who hardly knew my parents, but know that they would be proud of me because I voted for change. Raised in Tennesse, I once specuated this would happen in 2000. I was wrong. But I'm so proud to see Mr. President-elect Obama and his family give us something we so needed...a visionary who happens to be a husband, father, and black. Thanks to whomever did this! It's beaufiful.
I WAS SO MOVED BY THIS SONG THAT I CAN'T STOP CRYING. HOW CAN I OBTAIN THIS SONG OR CD? I LIVE IN MAINE AND CALLED MY SISTER LONG DISTANCE IN CHICAGO AND PUT THE PHONE TO MY SPEAKER SO SHE COULD ENJOY IT ALONG WITH ME. HAVE READ SOME OF THE OTHER COMMENTS AND ALL I CAN SAY IS HALLELUJAH!!!
I'm an old white guy raised in Tn and in high school at the same time in the same town as Wilma Rudolf when the general attitude at my high school was that the outside agitators demonstrating for civil rights should go back to where they came from. The pictures and music and the progress already history are beautiful. May the good continue and improvement abound on every front. Let us all work to make it happen.
coming from Nigeria and seeing and being a part of all of these has giving me more confidence about what to tell my American born children and to give them pride about the mother land Africa the birth place of their father and this also serves as a reminder that our American brothers and sisters do not have nothing to be ashamed of being linked to Africa. I say this because sometimes they descriminate more agaist us and ridicule us thier African brothers and sisters. It is realy time for us to show who and what we are, all one people in the Lord.
Nov 4, 2008 is a day i wish my grandparents were here to see. Growing up in NC where things were racially motivated I remember their vision and the Dream of Dr. Martin Luther King. I remember the excitement of election day in the early 60's when every one in voting age left their homes together for the walk down the street to the voting pole in Pollocksville, on highway 17. It was the same feeling of Pride and Acomplisment sort for so long. The Blood of the Lord is on us All. Change is Hear. Praise God, He was then, is now and will be forevermore. Halalua

You got the right song. This is the song that I said should be his song. I had always like this song. Play it all the time on my ipod video...thank you for putting it out there with our PRESIDENT..
Hail to the Queen! Absolutely beautiful Ms. Latifa, just beautiful... You go girl! I agree with Magarine. Thank God for the measure of the man; Mr. President Elect Barack Obama. President to the people of these United States.
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.
I lift my lamp beside the golden door."
America which was built on the backs of hard working men and woman. Our time has come! All of the struggles all of the bloodshed it took for us to finally wake up and demand change! Its not a black or white issue. Its an issue of democracy. We the People.......How did we lose THAT!
God Bless America and Her brave people who had the courage to fight for a new legacy, to turn the page and elect a native son, born of the love of both Black and White, President-Elect Barack Obama to guide this great nation into a glorious future. May God be the force behind the Obama Presidency and may God keep America safe from sea to shining shore. Congratulations, Peace, Love and Blessings to President-Elect Barack Obama, First Lady-Elect Michelle Obama and their gorgeous daughters, Malia and Sasha.
Teresa - Nov. 13, 2008
For the first time I can remember, I feel like my vote made a difference. Thanks GOD for President Obama. Change is gonna come, be patient.
As a black transgendered person of faith and color. I am very proud of our new dream team for america. I plan on working very close to this administration with much needed prayer as we face the days ahead. President Obama a shield of protection is around you and your family for the God we serve is able and just to keep you in every hour that you lead this nation. Our ansestors salute.
I've always excerised my right to vote because my forefathers fought for that right. I voted in the past to honor those that fought that fight. This year I voted because I was fighting. I was fighting for CHANGE for my children, and my children's children. This is the legecy that I leave them - a President that will bring about CHANGE in this term and many more terms to come! May God Bless and protect the new First Family and those that stand beside them. I know that I will.
"Now is the time for We as americans to come to the aide of our President and support the Change for our Country. God Bless America and God - please allow Your light to shine again on our Country.
The Lord God, already said in Isaiah chapter 54-17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement shalt be condemn. This is what the Lord do to protect his people who trust in him. Obama is cover under the blood of the Lord. And whosoever fight against him shall be condemn.
God has blessed America with an opportunity to again be great through human kindness and compassion. I pray that President Obama will allow God to guide him as he leads the world through such a great valley.
Hello and praise God almighty for the time and effort put into the making of this memorable presentation and tribute. Truly we as a people and country have come a long way, but the battle is not over. Let us rejoice in the grand hour in time, yet let us focus on what still needs to be done. We have proven, we can bring about change on our knees! God does answer prayer. President Obama, my prayers of protection & support go out to you and your family! Stay on course and place your trust in God; he will see you through. God bless America
My name is Daria Dillard Stone, The Servant when I heard this song by Queen Latifah, sung with such passion, it reminded me of another song my generation sung called "A Change is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke. I am proud and honored to be 57 years old, been through - came through. However I get teary eyed thinking about me being able to SEE HISTORY MADE in my life time...I knew it would happen, but did not think it would happen in MY LIFE TIME! How marvelous our GOD is - HIS timing is always HIS Timing. We all had opinions didn't we? OH but GOD had the answer and I just trusted and waited. The song resonates a flood of memories in my spirit and it awakes an urgency in knowing the words KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE DR. KING lauded, were not mere noises from a mouth of a man with a purpose...he was warning us TO FORGE ON, WAIT ON IT, IT IS COMING -CHANGE. Then Jesse Jackson used to say "Keep HOPE ALIVE" we did that 2. Sing Queen! Keep it real! Any day above ground is a good day - have a good day
I am truly speechless to see all diversified groups coming as one to represent Change in our world. This video makes me not only fills me with the spirit but also shows that when we all come together we can make a change.
My dad was born and raised in the rural area of South Carolina. I lost him in 2004 and when I listened to this song for the first time, it made me think of him. He struggled for many years to be the Man that god had intended him to be and I just wish that he was here to celebrate in this magnificant time in American History. He would be able to see that his struggles were not forsaken. I listen to this song every morning when I get to work (motivation) and every evening when I get home (comfort). Thank you President Obama and family for making many dreams come true. I am blessed with two children (18 and 3). My 18 year old son voted for the first time this year and stated how proud he felt and now I believe my baby daughter has a crush on our new President because she carries around the first family picture and screams OBAMA.
Thank you. Words can not express the joy that I feel now that all Americans have someone who will be in the White House who truly cares. What truly won me over was the fact that now President Barack Obamatruly believes what he says and wants for us all. May God protect you Mr. President and your lovely family.
I am 56 years old and lived my first 11 years in New Orleans where "white and colored" were not the same. This election has changed all of this. Today we have turned the corner on color/party seperations. We spoke our minds in electing our new President. Let's not forgot those who made it possible for this to happen. No matter what color you are, what you might call yourself. We Showed the world, the time for change was here and now. God Bles America and its new President.
An Intelligent America voted not only Barack Obama as President for our United States of America, but for a United World in as much as that is possible. It is not to say that those whom did not vote for President Elect Obama aren't intelligent, it's just that in light of the atmosphere that has clouded our presidential elections, over the, in part, almost past three decades, was not one of ideas and ideals.

Thank God for all our BLESSINGS!! For His words are true "just wait on the Lord"...you know the rest. We love our new first family and will keep them in our prayers. I'm so proud! I agree that the past eight years was all a part of God's plan for a better America. President elect is a part of all of us. We must continue to teach our children.
For once in my life the words," We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal," and "We the people of the UNITED States". Have a more real meaning to me. I'm 44 years old and grew up in a time of integration where you were told as I also taught my children that with hard work and dedication you can be anything. Both my daughters called me after the announcement of the winners and said, "Mom you were right, anything is possible in America!"
Congratualtions President-Elect Obama! I volunteered for over eight months in Austin, TX and all I can say is "WOW". Now my great-great nieces and nephews can read about this in their History books and say someone in my family had a part in this history making event. God bless the Obama/Biden families and God Bless America and the people who chose to look beyond the color of his skin.
It's been a long time coming! In obedience to God, Obama has followed the path that has been planned for him. God always has a perfect plan for our lives. The last 8 years were a part of the plan for not only America but for the World to watch and see God's work in action.
We must study the Word and believe in It. Read and reflect on His word found in Isaiah 40:28-31 which says, v 28. "Has thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding." v 29. "He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increseth strength." v 30. "Even the youths shall faith and be weary, and the youjg men shall utterly faill:" v 31. "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strenght; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Hebrews 11:32 "And what shall I more say?...
I AM SO HAPPY FOR THE PRESIDENT FAMILY,VICE PRESIDENT FAMILY AND THIS COUNTRY.WE ARE WALKING IN THAT BEAUTIFUL LIGHT TOGETHER.THANKS MR PRESIDENT.MUCH LOVE.CLASS OF 1966 QUINCY,FLA.
I am so happy that this day has come and that God bleesed me to see it. I pray that we continue to surport this family and that we give God the praise and glory for this day. A day that most of us thought we would never see, But, GOD did raise up a prophet in this date and in this time for HIS people that are called by HIS name. I want to say Thank You.
First I have to say that I thank God for letting me live to see a MAN of color become president of the United States. Please all that pray and thoes who dont (learn to pray) to keep this MAN overed in prayer. This is our time for change. Keep President Obama in your prayers.
While I congradulate President Obama. We must keep in mind that he has been place in this position by God. The Lord will not place on any one, more than he can bare. For those of us, who know the words of prayer, let us pray that our president will be cover by the ointing of the holy spirit.
This world is Gods stage, it is also his play. The Lord cast all of us as actors. He wrote all of our scripts. If we play our roles correctly, then and only then shall we receive our earthly blessings, and eventually our accademy awards from our Lord and Savior, Jesus C
(#44) Mr. President-Elect
I think you are the true actualization of Dr King's dream. You stand on the shoulders of a lot of great men and women that came before you that made a difference and I know that you will also make a difference. I think that you are the best man for the difficult job that you have been hired to do, and that is to lead this country back to its identity and unify the American People. This task will not be easy, but I know that God willing, you, Vice-President Biden, the revised U.S. Congress and the American people will get the job done. Remember, you had over 64 million Americans approve your job application. Mr. President-Elect we are behind you. As the boxing promoter, Don King says, Only in American. May God bless you and the United States of America!
I am so thankful for Senator Barack Obama being willing to run for the President of the United States. The haters and the fear mongers of the United States needs to thank God for living to see this day. If elected president Barack mother was an American then so is he. American military children are born overseas everyday. Are they Americans? Weak minded people have to listen to radio talk shows and religious leaders to believe that President elect Barack Obama is not an American citizen.
It is with a great deal of pride and joyfulness, I congratulate you. I must admit, I never thought I would live to see this day. I am very grateful for this blessing.
On election night after it was confirmed that you will be our next President and First Family, I looked at the faces of the people, and I saw joy and hope for a new beginning. This expression was on the faces of all people whether shouting or jumping for joy or with tears flowing down their cheeks. I looked into the eyes of the people, and each one's eyes had a twinkle as if they were stars.
This was a most memorable occassion, and I thank you. I also, wish to offer my condolences for the lost of your precious grandmother. She did a job well done. I am sure she knew that you would always excel in all of your endeavours. I wish she could have lived to witness this day. To her I say thank you for raising such a wonderful man.
I would like to Congradulate President Elect OBAMA, I know you must have a haylow obove your head knowing that you are the First black MAN to have made this historical event of becoming our next President. I would also like to send my condolesences to the Obama family for there lost. There is a saying: "God take it and God bring it", God bless you and your family and this journey your about to take. I am honored to have you as the Presdent!
To Our President Elect Congratulations To You And First Lady Michelle Obama, Who Said God Don't Answer Prayers And He's Still In Marical Working Business I So Proud Of You And My Prayer Goes Out To You On The Lost Of Your Grandmother. I Will Continue To Keep You And Your Family In My Prayers, I Pray That God Will Continue To Keep You Under His Protected Custody. We Know That All Things Work For The Good For Thoes Who Love The Lord And Are Called According To His Purpose.
May God continue to bless our next President and the American people who will help bring about change. Let me be the first to offer my help with economic change. When Wall street had our worst time in history since the great depression, my company had it's best day ever. I am talking about FHTM. Give me a call to get the details. 1-877-844-0992. Sincerely, Kimberly.
President Elect Barack Obama............
I thank God for you and I know you will serve this country.
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was the dreamer and YOU'RE, the DREAM. I know this world is in your hands with GOD'S hands holding yours.
May God, Bless and keep you and your family safe...............
L. K.
I, too, am so thankful to our Lord, God and Savior for the priviledge of witnessing history. President Elect Obama is correct. "Change has come to America; and we can't turn back." All Glory to God who controls everything. I am so happy that All Americans--Black, White, Latino, Asian--allowed themselves to be used of God to make this happen.
May the Angel of the Lord go before and encamp about our President as he governs with the wisdom of the Lord.
God Bless You and God Bless America
May God bless and keep you always President-Elect Obama. It's been a long time coming, but I feel in my spirit that a change has truly come! You and your family will always be in my prayers!
Congratulations and God Bless our new "FIRST Family"!!! President Elect Obama there will will be naysayers and many hoping for your failure, but I, like many others are praying for your success and for your ability to lead us and guide our country in a new direction with Almighty God's help. Keep Him first and do not fall into the many traps and temptations some are hoping and plotting with Satan's help to make you and your wife fodder for the tabloids. Keep your love and commitment toward each other strong and with God's help you will do the great things that you have been "chosen" to do. This just didn't happen, it was a prophecy being fulfilled. I have lived to be in my 70's and I am so glad to have been alive to witness history being made this November 4, 2008!!!!May our Heavenly Father continue to protect and guide you in your endeavor to try to straighjten out the mess in our Country and effect it has had globally. Zenobia Waller
Mechelle Obama, continue to stand proud and strong. I feel like you are just like me, a strong, PROUD, and happy woman. God Bless You and your familiy and God Bless America. CONGRATULATIONS PRESIDENT ELECT BARAK OBAMA 2008. A CHANGE HAS COME. SPEAKING WORDS OF WISDOM, LET IT BE. LET IT BE, YEAH LET IT BE, SPEAKING WORDS OF WISDOM, LET IT BE!!! STACEY SMITH, MONROE, LOUISIANA
There is something about this man, he is our collective better self. We have the chance to become a great nation once again, a chance to triumph over past mistakes, a chance for change. With every breath I take, I will remember this moment, this opportunity and this man. My prayers will include him, his family, and America. The time for a leader is now, and Barack Obama is the best man for this job, at this time, in this place. We can go forward with courage and honor. Thank you Barack Obama.
THANK GOD FOR YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA. GOD KNEW IT WAS TIME FOR (YOU) MOSES TO LEAD HIS PEOPLE OUT OF BONDAGE. I PRAY THAT HE WILL GUIDE, PROTECT, STRENGTHEN YOU AND THE FIRST FAMILY THROUGH OUT THE TRANSITION AND FOR EVER MORE.
DEAR PRESIDENT OBAMA I PRAY FOR YOU EVERY DAY I ASK GOD TO PROTECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY I ASK THE HOLY ANGELS TO BE WITH YOU ALLWAYS . I ASK GOD TO GIVE YOU WISDON AND KOWLEDGE TO RUN COUNTRY,, WHEN I BEGIN TO LEARN ABOUT YOU I KNOW THAT GOD WAS GOING TO USE A PERSON TO BRING UNITY TO AMERICA. THIS IS NOT A BLACK OR WHITE OR ANY ONE POLITICAL PARTY BUT ONE NATION UNDER GOD WITH JUSTICE AND LIBERTY FOR ALL
I thank God for you President Obama, your Wife and your Daughters. God had done a Wonderful and Bless thing when he made you and your family. Before I went to VOTE, I had to pray and thank God for taking charge of this. To watch you is amazing because you are so cool, but about your business. Thank you President Obama for taking this hard walk and I thank your Wife and Daughters for being there for you, what a beauitful family to have. I will always keep you and your family in my prayer. I know how important family are because I am taking care of my grandchilren (3) of them since they were born. Take care of your self and family. Thanks for thinking of the peopele. May God Always Bless You And Your Family............
Thank God! We have finally reached the mountain top. There's alot of people that may not like it but you're just going to have to accept it. It was time for a change. We are living in the last days and people still cant see past color. But yet and still you call yourselves CHRISTIANS! How could you possibly think this. "THEY THAT ARE LAST SHALL BE FIRST AND THEY THAT ARE FIRST SHALL BE LAST".The bible says in Judges 4:14"Then Deborah said to Barak, "Get ready! Today the Lord will give you victory over Sisera, for the Lord is marching ahead of you. We have won our VICTORY!
I am so happy that this day has come: I am also very very happy that the Latinos stepped up to the plate and help bring Obama to the White House. The mountain has been climbed and we are at the top...AMEN
I like many Americans of all races & culture are still wondering if it's real what we experience with the outcome of the election, I never though in my life time America would elect a men of color as it's president. I am greatfull to see a new era in America and in the world. Not only we voted for Obama but the entire world and that has never happen in the history of the world. It's a very special time in America today after so many years going the wrong path. Finally America has turn a page on it's history an many of us who never felt American because we never felt politically & socially represented, can now be proud to be an American
Mary Williamson: I am so very proud to live to see the day that you (Barack Obama) a very qualified man who happens to also be a black man is now my president. I, as so many others, am touched to the core of my being. I celebrate with your grandmother, and the masses. This is a great day for all people! An even greater day for us who have endured so much for so long. May God bless, direct and keep you as you lead this country. I would like to have an autographed photo of you, and one of you and your family, please.
I am so grateful that Mr. Obama follows in the path that God Almighty has laid before him. Now is not the time to stop praying. We must be persistent in our prayers for Mr Obama, his family and this nation on a continues basis. Let us be steadfast and unmovable in our faith and our love and respect to support Mr. Obama. God bless you Mr. Obama and God bless the USA.

I would just like to say that I am elated to have a man representing this country that stands for everyone. For every man or all nationalities, this is proof you can be anything you want in this lifetime. I also would like to say that God knew this man before he was in his mothers womb, and he knew that he was going to be our 44th President. Lets keep in mind that he is human and he has some tough times ahead of him. As we say Yes We Can lets all start to do just that. Lets represent what Obama really stand for and start to help each other out. Lets all try to do some good deeds and be a blessing to one another. Its so many Americans struggling today, and we have to start to help one another. I will sum this up by saying God Bless America, God Bless the New President and his Family...Please everyone just continue to pray for that God will cover and protect him as he turns this country around.
I'm a 52 year old white man from Texas. I lived through the civil rights struggle, forced integration and have been the target of racial physical violence. I know there is no way I can fully appreciate the elation of the African American community, but I do not recall any other time in my life that I have been so proud to be an American! This certainly does not mark and end to prejudice. There is lots of work to do. Mr Obama represents the hope that the US will go forward in this world with a more compassionate, understanding, loving attitude. I served 6 years in the military and have always been willing to lay down my life to protect the constitution, these last 8 years have almost made me ashamed of our flag. Our narrow minded approach to world politics and willingness to rush into war when ever we disagree or do not understand another nation.
But today I stand very proud. I am so thankful to have Mr. Obama represent my nation in world events.
I have lived quite a few years, and have seen many improvements. But i never expected to see one like me be elected as The President. Now i do believe that all things are possible in these United States of America. President elect Obama, is the first. I hope that he won't be the last. If he is given the chance. He will start to bring about the necessary changes to get this country on the road to recovery. There will be some difficult days ahead, but we as a country WILL MAKE IT.
Yes God has answered the prayers of many of his children. He also answered when he sent us Martin Luther King, Jr. But we, like the children of Israel (who expected Mose to do everything for them) did the same thing with the Civil Rights Movement. Many did not do their part to keep the movement going. Let's not let that happen again. Let's do our part in helping to turn things around. We can start in our own family and communities by helping one another to be better in school, on our jobs, in our churches. Help bring a young person along. Don't sit on the side lines (wandering in the wilderness) and expect President-elect Obama to do it by himself. Take a lesson out of the page of his campaign, where hundreds of thousands of people worked together tireless all over this nation to get him elected. We must take that same energy to helping in the Presidency. And remember "Faith without Works is dead". As Obama often said in his campaign "we have to be that change we desire"
We have prayed and prayed time after time in and out of church for GOD to send us someone who can relate to us, THE PEOPLE who represent USA. I am so thankful to be living in these days and times, to see Mr. OBAMA become one of the 1st African American to become something folks have been saying "would be a cold day in hell before a black man becomes president." Well today is different cause for once THE PEOPLE are standing up and exercising their rights. I am proud to be an American, an African American. We, THE PEOPLE, are tired of all foolishness. Its time to set a new pace for our children and their children to come. To God be the GLORY! I know its not going to be an easy road for MR. Obama to follow down after what Bush has created (a disaster) but I have faith in my new president to help change things around, but he can't do it alone. We have to help. We must do our part as well. To GOD be the GLORY!
I want to thank God for giving us a chance to be as on nation again. I know that my ancestors are dancing in haven and I amtruly gratful that Mr. Obama has the heart to take this road with us and I know if we all work together we can make this change for all people in the world.
My heart is so full of love, joy, happiness, peace and pride. I am 57 years old and I never thought in my liftime this day would come for me to see. President Obama there are no word to express what I feel for you and your fsmily, you have brought new hope to ALL Americans wheather they know it or not. I had given up, but you make me proud to be an American again. Ipray for your safety and wish you the best. I know you will make a difference. I only wish that your grandmther, Martin Luther King & Corretta and Rosa Parks were here to see this. God Bless you. YES WE CAN!!
You are truly an inspiration to people of African descent the world over. I gave birth to my first child this year and wondered what sort of world I have brought him into. I now know that it is a world where anything is possible, where he is not limited by the colour of his skin but by the content of his character and his determination to succeed and achieve his hearts desire. Congratulations and thank you.
I am from the state of Mississippi, i voted for Obama with pride and I am happy to live to see this day. Not just to elect a black man as President, but to elect someone I voted for, a MAN that i feel will do the right thing for ALL AMERICAN, it was a dream that I felt would never happen with so much racist. People can change and i have. My hopes for the future is much brighter today.
I'd like to say Congratulation to the Obama family, to let you know our wondering around in the desert for 40 years is over. May God continue to Bless you and your family.
Another diamond has surfaced in this vast dessert;lets allow it to show its exuberance, its glory.Such is a very rare diamond and its called BARRACK OBAMA..God bless this diamond. Its glitter can be seen worldwide.
Where We're Going

We must not let the negativity and sheer hatefulness that seems to absorb so many distract us from our gratitude and support.
angelica - Apr 13, 2010 10:50 PM

Respectfully, and YES WE CAN!!

Halalua

DariaDillard - Nov 12, 2008 7:16 AM

Lashane - Nov 12, 2008 5:01 AM

I am 56 years old and lived my first 11 years in New Orleans where "white and colored" were not the same. This election has changed all of this. Today we have turned the corner on color/party seperations. We spoke our minds in electing our new President. Let's not forgot those who made it possible for this to happen.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. President and Princesses,
It is with a great deal of pride and joyfulness, I congratulate you.
Sincerly,
Ernestine Lewis

I, too, am so thankful to our Lord, God and Savior for the priviledge of witnessing history. President Elect Obama is correct. "Change has come to America; and we can't turn back." All Glory to God who controls everything. I am so happy that All Americans--Black, White, Latino, Asian--allowed themselves to be used of God to make this happen.
May the Angel of the Lord go before and encamp about our President as he governs with the wisdom of the Lord.
God Bless You and God Bless America

Kim Shipp - Nov 6, 2008 12:55 PM
As Obama often said in his campaign "we have to be that change we desire"
ronique - Nov 6, 2008 8:46 AM
Elizabeth - Nov 6, 2008 8:44 AM
I want to thank God for giving us a chance to be as on nation again. I know that my ancestors are dancing in haven and I amtruly gratful that Mr. Obama has the heart to take this road with us and I know if we all work together we can make this change for all people in the world.
