simply beautiful, very touching. i am a new mom and our newborn son has down syndrome. i stumbled across this and my heart went "yes!" i will share this with friends. thank you for putting your joy into photos and words of inspiration for new moms like me.
I received the book "Gifts" from Children's Mercy in Kansas City at the Down Syndrome Clinic. I found the link there, I also forwarded it to everyone. Thank you.
AMEN!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful blessing. I'm also the mother of a son with DS and I couldn't have put it better how we feel about him.
That was absolutely incredible, Thank-you so much for sharing your precious blessing with me, he is gorgeous, beautiful! God made each and every one of us special. Your video brought beauty to my life, and warmed my heart, Thank-you!
I was really blown away. Thank you for sharing that. I've forwarded it to every person I could think of! My favorite part was "I am special and it has nothing to do with having DS"....
You and your son are so beautiful! Every word you have written in your montage is eloquent and true. All things that I see and love in my own son every day. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!
Fabulous! My 3rd child was born with ds and is a delight to our family. She is a sweet, tough little girl. I read about your montage in "Gifts" and was wondering if you sent all the stuff to Oprah. Did you get a response? You can email me at eskelundriley@yahoo.com.
I didn't see all of the videos yet, but the first one with the Cranberrie's song, was absolutely emotional. I cried the whole time. I loved it. I have a 19mth old little girl with Down's and she's the joy of my life along with my 7 mth old son. We are indeed lucky and blessed. People tell me it takes special people to have special children. I say thank you to them, and go on with my day with a smile.
I am hosting the first ever Down syndrome carnival at http:??cause-of-our-joy.blogspot.com and would like permission to link to your lovely video. Email me at leticia77@optonline.net
I think this is the best montage I've ever seen. It's very quotable and having 3 children with disabilites (my little babe has ds) and was weeping at your comments and shared so many of your sentiments (I wrote some similar ones of 1 of my montages but not so eloquently!). Your son is beautiful - I'm not surprised you're so proud!
With every good wish for you and your family in the future
Sally
That was beautiful :) He is adorable. I love the message you had in your montage. My son is almost 11 months and he was born with a cleft hand, I truly believe we are the lucky ones. God bless you and your family.
This is so beautyful!!
I just love this!!
I also have a montage with my little boy who also have ds...
I am really blessed with him and he is my everything, a gift like every child is..
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VIDEO. I WAS RAISED WITH AN UNCLE WHO
WAS BORN WITH DOWNS AND THEN GOT POLIO TWICE. I THOUGHT OF HIM AS MY BIG BROTHER AND HIS WHEELCHAIR
NEVER BOTHERED ME AND HE LOVED US AND PROTECTED ME
AND MY SIBLINGS. PEOPLE THAT HAVE ABORTIONS BECAUSE
THEY FIND OUT THE CHILD HAS DOWNS DON'T KNOW WHAT
THEY ARE MISSING. I THINK PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL CHILDREN
ARE SPECIAL PEOPLE AND GOD TRULY BLESSES YOU. GOD
BLESS YOU AND YOUR PRECIOUS CHILD.
Just absolutely beautiful!!! After I saw the video I ran into Ragen's bedroom, grabbed her and held her like I never held her before. Your words were so perfect. What a blessing these children are. We are the lucky ones, we really are!! Thanks for sharing.
Your Montage is fabulous as is your wonderful little boy, you are truly lucky to have him in your life.
I am a nurse and I work with special children, your video is truly inspiring as are all the children who touch my life.

Thank you for all of your comments. They are very touching. I am honored that my montage has touched so many people. Nolan is my inspiration and my guiding light. I feel so blessed. What an amazing journey this is!
Side note: Nicole do you know about http://www.livingwithtrisomy13.org ? I was asked to pass that info along to you. You can find great support there.
I loved your video and applaud you for it! Hooray someone else standing up for our special little children. It is also wonderful for me to see another child with Trisomy still living. Unfortunately here in Colorado I have not met anyone, yet, that has a living child with Trisomy. My daughter Emily has Trisomy 13 and we were blown away with the news at her birth that she would not have long to live. Emily will be 12 on January 11th. Amazing? She lived twelve years longer than anyone expected. These children are God's special messengers be their lives short or long. Take care and God bless. Nicole

Your words on the black frames are so powerful. You are just as beautiful as your son. Thanks for putting so many emotions into a tangible form!!!! Jane - pjmbaja@comcast.net
Your son is beautiful! What an amazing story your video tells of how great your love for him is. And your faith that God does not make mistakes. My son has DS and he is 12. He is a joy in our lives. I was forwarded the link to this video... I don't know you or your baby but it was absolutely beautiful. My mom was told at 19 when she had her first child, that he had DS and she needed to put him in a home and forget that she even had a child. This video is helping to change that old mind-set. My mom didn't listen and my oldest brother is now 37 and a huge part of our family.
Thank you for sharing your precious video with me, I was overwhelmed by how beautiful you and your son are. I am priveledged to run a home for children with severe learning disabilities who cannot live with their families any longer and live with the pleasures they bring every day.
Thank you.
Your video is beautiful. We are truely blessed with our children Down Syndrome or not. Our 4 month old son has Down Syndrome and everything you said touched our hearts. Thank You.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUSH FOR THIS VIDEO, IT IS GREAT. I HAVE A 23 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WITH DOWNS AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT. SHE IS SPECIAL, SHE HAS TAUGHT US SO MUCH. APRIL IS A TRUE BLESSING FROM GOD.
you will always give unconditional love and you are beautiful .we have the privelege of caring for a young man who has angelmanns syndrome and he may be a little difficult at times but always manages to cancel the bad stuff with one look or hug all the love in the world to you all xxxxxxxxxxx
OMG--That was beautiful--it really made me appreciate the simple little things in my life that I may take for granted. After watching your video, I cried because of how much I love my 2 month old son. That doesn't change for ANYBODY!! I know you will enjoy him, just as you would enjoy any other child, because he's a part of you and hubby and he's your baby!
I LOVE this video. Nolan is a gorgeous boy!!! Have a 3 1/2 yr old boy with DS and he is amazing. Every child is special,DS or not. As long as kids are loved, they will do their best. We have all been given "gifts". This video should be a "Down Syndrome Awareness" commercial. It says it all so perfectly!!! Enjoy him.
How wonderful! My daughter Taylor is 14 with DS and all of what you say is so true...stubborn? I like headstrong better...won't spit or bite? NOT TRUE of Taylor ! She did - and it took FOREVER to get past that! Grocery bagger? NOPE...HOOTERS GIRL! That's her dream job! But they say at school she should be able to work a desk job...or with her loving, caring and compassionate nature, work in a profession caring for others...take care of this precious gem, he's truly God's gift and you are very blessed! Thanks for sharing him!
I love the video. I adopted a son with Down Syndrome at 2 months old. He is now 13 years old and he is beautiful and the love in my life. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome, that is a beautiful testament to true life, love and God. Your son is beautiful and it looks as if he could not have asked for better parents.
God bless.
Wow. Bought back some strong emotions, My son is now 20 years old has Down syndrome. What pleasure he has given us in all those years. Thank you for sharing your video. I hope the next 20 years for you is as fun and exciting as ours has been. We have learnt so much from our son. He truly is special to us and everyone who knows him.
Sue
Wow! Thank you so very, very much...... I have a 19 year old son with Downs and autistm...... I cried all the way through the video and shared the site with many friends.. God bless your precious little one and your whole family. Terry
My son, who has a son with Down's, sent this to me. I'm going to pass it on to an e-mail friend who has just had a baby with Down's. The comment about being stubborn reminds me so much of Thomas!
Thank you for sharing your video. My best friend just found out that her baby (she is pregnant) has down syndrome. I am researching all I can for her because she is not sure whether to have the baby or abort the baby. I will make sure she sees your video and is aware that these babies are wonderful! You have a beautiful child. Thank you for sharing the joy of having him with us!
Although I can't seem to get the video to work (computer issues) I also wanted to to say that having a son with DS has been an honor and a great blessing. He just turned 1 and every day, he continues to just shine! I feel like I won the lottery! The fact that God entrusted me with John is such a wonder. I hope I can live up to the blessings he has given us. Thank you for sharing your story.
Lora
Catherine, I know your joy. My daughter, Madeline, has brought me into this ... true love you celebrate in your video. I want to thank you for sharing this -- it is a ministry to others. And, more importantly, I want to encourage mothers who have received a diagnosis that this joy is real...not some positive way of coping with a "bad" situation. I read comments posted here -- like those from a precious woman named Neva who is carrying a child they suspect might have DS-- and I remember my fear and concerns as I carried Madeline. She did not have a heart defect, but I was riddled with other concerns. Be encouraged, Neva, that when you hold your precious daughter in your arms, she will be perfect -- fit for God's purpose for her. Bless you, Catherine, and bless your family!
Thank you for reminding those of us with children with DS that they are more of a joy than not. My Rebecca just turned 3 and whe gives the most heart warming hugs and smiles-and she's so forgiving when we mess up. Your Nolan is lucky to have you as a mom.
This is a truly inspiring video & I hope that with it you will encourage and educate many. Having a child with Down syndrome is not a bad thing, it is just a different thing. And, like any child, they are a true blessing from God! THE ONLY HANDICAP A PERSON HAS ARE THE PEOPLE AROUND THEM! 'TM'
Absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for sharing this with the world, your message is so true and powerful. I can't imagine someone NOT welcoming your beautiful son in their life. My "enhanced" son is the love of our life, and I can see your son has brought you just as much happiness and fullfillment as mine has brought me. I hope and pray all of your family embraces your child.
That should be a book! What an excellent job you did in making that!!!! Here is mine if you are interested! My daughter Megan is 30 months and has 47 chromosomes too!

That is a terrific video. :) Our Jack, 33 mos., has Down Syndrome. He's such a gift too. Let's pray that peoples eyes will continue to open to the value of all souls. They have so much to give. Here's a great site for info. on helping a child with Down's to be healthier. http://www.einstein-syndrome.com/site_map.htm God bless. xo Jackster's Mom xo
I have recently been informed that the baby I am 36 wks Pg with has AV Canal. I also was informed of the risk of her having down syndrome due to the AV Canal. I opted to continue my preg and have been concerned every since. You gave me the strength to push on. I watched your montage and fell in love with what I saw. I hope that whether my little girl has DS or not I am as good a mommy as you appear to be. Thank you for sharing your video.
This video has touched me so deeply I'm drawn to view it repeatedly and am filled with incredible emtion each time. Thank you for sharing! I will be sharing this beautiful video with others with every opportunity.
Thank you so much for sharing. My daughter is now 14 and there are continual challenges every day. It has been a long time since I cried with joy about having a child with Down Syndrome. Thank you for reminding me about all the positives. I will remember your montage for a long time. Please remember it also when tough times face you in the future. You are really grounded.

I was feeling so sad and terrible and I saw this and it has totally changed my perspective! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
Your video montage is very inspiring. I too have a disABILITY caused from birth. Brachial Plexus Palsy & I can understand the scrutiny your son can go through from uninformed people. He's got a wonderful mother & you have a gorgeous little guy. His smile just melts my heart. I too saw your video from the BBC Feb 06 board.

Hi, my name is Kim. My husband and I have a beautiful 13 yr old daughter, Carolyn. We feel truely blessed to be her parents. Not a day goes by that she does not fill my heart with love and laughter. Your son is awesome. He will never cease to amase you. Everyday will be an adventure. You (we) are truely blessed, we have something special in our lives.
Hi, your post on babycenter has been passed around to our birth club (Nove 05). I watched your video montage and just wanted to say that you have an absolutely beautiful son. The love you have for him and him for you is obvious and AWESOME.
Thanks so much for sharing,
Cristy
I was invited to your montage by a friend who knows that I've faced many of the same thoughts and feelings as you. I am "Momma" to Emma, 6 years old with DS. Your son is beautiful and you've been given a wonderful gift. My husband summed up our situation to our then 10 and 13 year old sons when Emma was born ~ "There are only 1 in 900 or so babies born with Down Syndrome and God chose us to give this baby to. He must think we're a pretty good family to trust us to raise her."

Thank you for sharing.

Enjoy him.
Tonya - Jun 14, 2006 8:07 PM
How wonderful! My daughter Taylor is 14 with DS and all of what you say is so true...stubborn? I like headstrong better...won't spit or bite? NOT TRUE of Taylor ! She did - and it took FOREVER to get past that! Grocery bagger? NOPE...HOOTERS GIRL! That's her dream job! But they say at school she should be able to work a desk job...or with her loving, caring and compassionate nature, work in a profession caring for others...take care of this precious gem, he's truly God's gift and you are very blessed! Thanks for sharing him!

My son, who has a son with Down's, sent this to me. I'm going to pass it on to an e-mail friend who has just had a baby with Down's. The comment about being stubborn reminds me so much of Thomas!
Charlotte - Jun 4, 2006 5:10 PM
Thank you for sharing your video. My best friend just found out that her baby (she is pregnant) has down syndrome. I am researching all I can for her because she is not sure whether to have the baby or abort the baby. I will make sure she sees your video and is aware that these babies are wonderful! You have a beautiful child. Thank you for sharing the joy of having him with us!
Lora - Jun 3, 2006 8:54 AM
Although I can't seem to get the video to work (computer issues) I also wanted to to say that having a son with DS has been an honor and a great blessing. He just turned 1 and every day, he continues to just shine! I feel like I won the lottery! The fact that God entrusted me with John is such a wonder. I hope I can live up to the blessings he has given us. Thank you for sharing your story.

Chrisitne Newlon - Jun 2, 2006 2:53 PM
Thank you for reminding those of us with children with DS that they are more of a joy than not. My Rebecca just turned 3 and whe gives the most heart warming hugs and smiles-and she's so forgiving when we mess up. Your Nolan is lucky to have you as a mom.
Kristy - Jun 1, 2006 10:47 AM
This is a truly inspiring video & I hope that with it you will encourage and educate many. Having a child with Down syndrome is not a bad thing, it is just a different thing. And, like any child, they are a true blessing from God! THE ONLY HANDICAP A PERSON HAS ARE THE PEOPLE AROUND THEM! 'TM'
Melanie - Jun 1, 2006 10:28 AM
Thanks for reminding me that our children are opportunities for us all to do better in our lives. Sweet, sweet boy.
Deborah - Jun 1, 2006 9:28 AM
Absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for sharing this with the world, your message is so true and powerful. I can't imagine someone NOT welcoming your beautiful son in their life. My "enhanced" son is the love of our life, and I can see your son has brought you just as much happiness and fullfillment as mine has brought me. I hope and pray all of your family embraces your child.

Terri - May 5, 2006 6:33 AM
I was invited to your montage by a friend who knows that I've faced many of the same thoughts and feelings as you. I am "Momma" to Emma, 6 years old with DS. Your son is beautiful and you've been given a wonderful gift. My husband summed up our situation to our then 10 and 13 year old sons when Emma was born ~ "There are only 1 in 900 or so babies born with Down Syndrome and God chose us to give this baby to. He must think we're a pretty good family to trust us to raise her."
God must think you're pretty special too!
Danielle - May 4, 2006 5:56 PM
Absolutely beautiful. And your montage is too.
Denice - May 4, 2006 3:58 PM
What a beautiful and happy looking little boy. And, how lucky he is to have such a wonderful mother. You are truly blessed.
