This is such a lovely montage. Your story is amazing, he is truly a little miracle and doing so well. My little boy was born at 24 weeks an after 4 months in hospital and 4 operations he came home on oxygen. Bigs hugs to you all.
Thanks for asking about Elizabeth. She has now celebrated her first birthday in hospital. Unfortunately we do have one step forward and three back at every turn. We are hoping to have her home for Christmas, although I did joke the other day that her next deadline was the 2012 Olympics! If you'd like to email me, my address is emmalwhiston@hotmail.com
Wow, Sam certainly is a miracle baby and so so gorgeous. I too had a prem baby. Baby Ella arrived 11 weeks early. Apart from a scare after 8 weeks when she contracted the R.S.V bug (Bronchial infection) which she had to fight off herself, we had no major problems. I cant possibly imagine what you and your husband were going through at the time. Your montage is beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. All the best for the future to you both and your little fighter. XXX
OMGoodness he is so handsome. My son was a preemie as well grade 4 IVH. He lost half his brain on the L side. My daughter has a Trach as well since Nicu. You can view both thire videos by clicking on my name. I pray your son stays healthy. Howis he now?

Sam was born 16 weeks too soon. This is his story in pictures.
Sam was born too early and was too poorl...
Sam was born too early and was too poorly to be expected to make it.
Amongst other problems he had repeated bouts of sepsis and a grade 4 IVH (brain bleed). At 10 days old things looked bad for him and a blessing was held.
It was no small miracle that he managed to pull through.
Sam had to have surgery for a PDA when he was a month old. A few days later it was found that he has a bicuspid aortic valve and has aortic stenosis.
At 6 weeks Sam came off the vent and onto CPAP. He had many episodes where he had to go back onto the vent.
When he was 3 months old he was diagnosed with ROP and had to have laser eye surgery to save his sight. In theatre it was found that he had subglottic stenosis and he had to have an emergency tracheotomy.
Sam also had undiagnosed bowel problems. This resulted in him having to have an ileostomy.
Dispite having such a rough start to life, my little boy never stops smiling.
