One True Media and TiVo have teamed up to provide you with a breakthrough service designed to provide friends and family scattered across the country with an easy way to share your Video Montages, by sending them directly to the TV! Your amazing Video Montage will display in the TiVo subscriber's Now Playing List.
You don't need a TiVo subscription to create a TiVo channel and share your Montages to friends and family. Access to your personal TiVo channel and your Montages, does require a broadband-connected Series2™ or Series3™ TiVo.
How do I create and manage my personal TiVo channel?
Create your personal TiVo channel directly from your My Montages page by selecting the "TiVo Channel" button near the top of the page. Additionally, you can access the TiVo channel set-up screen from the "Share Online" link on your Montage's Preview page. TiVo and One True Media will supply the channel code and you create the channel name. You can then send a detailed email to family and friends about how to access your channel.
You can manage your TiVo channel from the "TiVo Channel" tab in My Montages page. There you can rename your TiVo channel, see your remaining shares, see the Montages that you have shared and the number of times they have been downloaded.
Your TiVo channel is private. Only people who have subscribed to your TiVo channel will be able to view your Montages. They are not publically available to everyone.
How do people watch my home movies on TiVo?
1. On their TiVo box, friends and family go to Home Movies by One True Media inside the Music, Photos, Products, & More folder.
2. To view your channel, a viewer simply enters your Channel Code (provided in the email that you send them). Once the channel is set up, a code doesn't ever need to be re-entered.
3. Viewers can get a Season Pass or download one video at a time like any other show TiVo records.
4. When they're ready to watch, viewers just go to the Now Playing list and open Home Movies by One True Media.
What does it cost?
All registered users can create a personal TiVo channel and share twice for free. In addition to the channel and two Anytime Shares, subscribers receive 5 Monthly Shares. Users can also purchase a package of ten Anytime Shares. This TiVo Ten Pack is available to all users for $9.95.
What is a "Share" to your TiVo channel and what is a "Download"?
A "share" refers to the action of sharing your Montage to your TiVo channel. Each time you share a Montage to your TiVo channel it counts as a share (even if it is the same Montage).
A "download" refers to the number of times your Montage has been downloaded to a TiVo box. Once the Montage is downloaded it will remain on the viewer's TiVo box until deleted.
What's the difference between an Anytime Share and a Monthly Share?
An Anytime Share can be used at any time during the active life of a One True Media account. All registered users who create a personal TiVo channel receive two Anytime TiVo shares for free. One True Media also offers ten Anytime Shares in our TiVo Ten Pack for $9.95.
One True Media subscribers receive five (5) Monthly TiVo Shares. Every month our subscribers will get 5 TiVo Shares added to their account. Monthly Shares are not cumulative.
How long will it take for my Montages to appear in TiVo?
Your TiVo channel and channel code will be available right after you create the channel. Montages added to your TiVo channel will be available to that channel within 24 hours. In many cases, the Montage will be available for viewing on the TiVo box within 10 hours. If a viewer creates a Season Pass any new Montages will appear in their Now Playing list when it's available to view.
